Apple has released updates for its entire suite of iWork apps today on both iOS and OS X. The updates include bug fixes for issues with some Microsoft Office documents and stability fixes across both platforms.

Apple also offers a web-based version compatible with the latest versions of Safari, Chrome, and Internet Explorer that integrates fully with iCloud. Like others on this list, it works with its own file formats and easily imports and exports files in the popular Microsoft Office formats like.docx,.xlsx, and.pptx. IWork for iCloud. Do it all from the web. With Pages, Numbers, and Keynote for iCloud, you and your team can access and edit all your documents on an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or PC web browser. Just sign in to iCloud.com, open the web app, and start working. 2012-8-30  I am considering purchasing iWork with my new MacBook Pro. I have a couple questions beforehand: (1) Can I open Microsoft Word files on it? What about Powerpoint or Excel? (2) Can I save and open Pages files (saved as.doc) on Microsoft Office Word? (3) Is the compatibility PERFECT or are there formatting issues on Word / Pages when being transferred between them? PC & Mac Word Compatibility. Mac computers are known for their user-friendly interfaces and easy-to-access features but PCs are still the dominant computer on the market. Applications such as Microsoft Word are used by far more people than Apple's Pages for word processing. Mac applications do not.

Other fixes on the Mac side include an issue that affected exporting presentations as images and master slides that included links in Keynote, and a problem that prevented users from being able to look up the definition of words in lists while using Pages. The iOS version of Numbers also gained a fix for a problem where documents would not open to their last saved position. The mobile Keynote app got a fix for an issue with opening presentations that contain many images.
