With the latest release of OneNote for Mac, Microsoft has finally accomplished a major cross-platform barrier. OneNote now available on most of major desktop as well as mobile devices including iOS supports. This move by Microsoft is a major challenge to Evernote. It essentially makes Evernote an obsolete product over night because simply by comparison OneNote is better than Evernote in almost every category. How to use the OneNote Importer On your Mac that has Evernote installed, visit. When the OneNote Importer has finished downloading, double-click the installer file on your Mac. Click Import. As soon as the process is complete, you can view your notes in OneNote for Mac. When you start. Evernote helps you focus on what matters most and have access to your information when you need it. Input typed notes or scan handwritten notes. Add to-do’s, photos, images, web pages, or audio. And it’s all instantly searchable. Organize notes any way you want and share with anyone.
Microsoft launch a new OneNote transfer tool as they look to attract Evernote users. (7 or later) and works best with the Windows version of Evernote, but a version for Mac is expected to follow. Whether this tool will be enough to convince Evernote users to switch remains to be seen, but Microsoft are certainly making a big push to gain.

How to migrate your notes from Evernote
To get started migrating your Evernote notes to OneNote, you will need:
- A Mac with OS X 10.11+ (El Capitan). Once your Evernote notes are imported, they’ll sync across all your devices, including PC, iOS and Android, as well as web browsers—for free.
- To speed up the migration process, it is recommended you have Evernote for Mac installed from the Evernote website. Sign in to Evernote for Mac with your Evernote account and make sure your latest notes are synced before importing.
